January 2012

Two thousand and twelve! Wow does time fly by fast! I can't believe my babies will be 4 and 3 in just a few months! I look back at pictures and journals from my Babysites website and can't believe it! I am so proud of the children my babies are becoming. They are truly the joy of my life! From tears to laughter...I would't change anything for the world.

Avery is growing into such a sweet and beautiful little girl. Don't get me wrong...she has her moments of terror too. But overall she is such a joy. She loves to color and do puzzles, paint and play with play dough. She still loves her Disney Princesses and talks constantly about going back to Disneyland and going on the Princess ship aka the Disney cruise we are taking in October. She is currently taking dance at Jill Rauscher's School of Dance; which is where I took dance. Her teachers are Ms. Jackie and Ms. Jane. She goes to dance on Wednesday's from 9:45 -10:30. She has made a lot of new friend that she also goes to church with too. I love it when she comes home from church and is teaching me about Jesus and singing the songs she learned at church! It melts my heart! She is also going to Little Wonders Preschool in Friendswood. Her teacher is Ms. Pat. She loves going to school and has learned so much already this year. She can pretty much write her own name independently. She only needs a few cues to get it right. She is riding her princess bike with training wheels like a pro. She is so fearless! She is reminding me to brush and floss her teeth and to say her prayers. She even reminds me of crazy things like..."Mom, did you lock the front door?" Please...she is only 3! Going on 14!!! ;)

Austin is my little bundle of joy...weighing in at a whopping 25 lbs. He is tall and lanky like his Momma. He has energy like no other. I call him a monkey because he will literally try to climb the walls using his feet. He loves to jump off the furniture and jump on the bed...which sends him to time out more often than not! Crazy kid...Don't get me wrong, as fast as he moves around, he just as fast falls asleep at nap time. He still loves his naps. He naps from one and a half hours to two and a half hours and sometimes I even have to wake him up. He is a grouchy one too when he wakes up! He has officially hit his terrible two's with a vengeance! But all in all he is a very sweet little boy. He will tell me he loves me without being prompted, says his prayers at night and sometimes even reminds me to say them. When he says his prayers...he says,"thank you for my Mommy, thank you for my Daddy, thank you for my sister...on and on with every family member. It is so cute! Austin is also going to Little Wonders in Friendswood. His teacher was Ms. Jessica and now it is Ms. Lauren. He can verbally spell his own name now and occasionally says "y" instead of "i". He loves to pretend play with Avery. Their favorite thing to do is play puppies or kitties. They crawl around the house, barking and meowing. He tries to be so independent too. He can put on his underwear and pants and needs some help with his shirt. He can put on his socks and his slip on shoes, on occasions. He wants to brush his own teeth and do everything on his own! He has the sweetest little voice and a cute little lisp because of his open bite still.

They are both a handful when they are together and keep us on our toes, to say the least! When they are on their own...they almost don't know what to do without the other. Avery is always wanting to wake Austin up and vice versa.

One thing that I have done with the kids for a long time...at bedtime, we will hug and kiss each other and say, " I Love to the moon and stars and back again!" Avery and I have our own little version of it...we will also say, "I love you bigger, I love you faster, I love you infinity!" Austin and I have our own little version too. Recently, after buying Austin a plaque for his room, we added this to our saying, " to infinity and beyond, forever and ever". Austin will point to his plaque and try to remember the new saying. Most of the time he mumbles the words and all that comes out is, "forever and ever". It is the sweetest thing to hear him say that. It's like our little way of telling each other we love each other! I love it!
